djsowder asked:

I have a cinder block home that needs new windows. The ones in them are metal. Would I get any more benefit out of argon filled windows compared to standard double pane windows. I am afraid I would never earn my money back on the higher end windows.

SolarWind asked:

These are regular double pane tempered windows (andersen I believe). When I clean them with windex, some of them actually feel rough like there is overspray and they don’t look quite clean even though nothing more comes up on the paper towel. Help!
Edit: Has anyone ever heard of using crumpled up tin foil?

Yes, exterior windows.

Xiaobei asked:

hi, I plan to get double-pane windows. I plan to hire contractors for the job and i got a few bids. Seems like the price varies a lot for diff brands. The top brands like milguard cost about 50% more. In your opinion, how important is the brand of the double-pane windows, and what are the decent but not top brands, if the quality does vary a lot from brand to brand.

How do I install storm windows on a double and triple window?

saveafireman asked:

My house was built in 1933 and has old double hung windows. Single pane and most are double with some triple windows. I could double up some single storm windows but that would not be right. There is a small (1/2″) trim piece around each window that runs flush with the middle piece. I did not think that would be enough material to attach a storm window onto. Thanks for all the help everyone!

BroknWing asked:

The windows are cold and I can feel cold air coming in through tiny gaps around the windows. Great stuff would probably be difficult to squish into such small gaps. What are my other options? These are the white double pane windows that flip in for cleaning.

I have a sliding glass door that is double-paned in my basement. There is mold between the panes. I obviously had a moisture issue, but this has been fixed. Does anyone know how I can remove this mold without the expense of purchasing a new door?
