Do I need to take the screens off my windows in the winter?

This is in the north midwest .I don’t have storm windows,I have double pane insulated windows. Could I leave the screens on or should I take them off?

    I always just leave mine on, but I live in the south.

    They will of course last many years longer if you take them off but it is not ”required”. The winter view is much nicer without them as well.
